When we think of Job, we think of the righteous man whom God allowed the devil to test. We think of a man that lost it all but never cursed God, but there’s much more to gain from this story.
- God places a hedge of protection around His children. Job 1:10
When you fear the Lord wholeheartedly, the devil can’t get to you easily because God shields you.
- Everything we have is a gift from God. Job 1:21
Nothing belongs to us in this world because we can’t take anything with us when we leave. God chooses to bless us with our desires and He can choose to remove them when He pleases. That’s the mindset we should have.
- There are good and bad seasons. Job 2:10
There will be seasons of trials and seasons of rejoicing. Sometimes God places us in certain situations to test our faith and build our endurance.
- Your circle matters. Job 2:12-13
Find friends who will not only sit at your table and celebrate, but who will also sit with you in the dirt.
- Your words are powerful. Job 4:4, Job 16:2-5
Your words have the power to give strength to others or to break their souls.
- Age does not equal wisdom Job 32:7-9
No matter your age, it is God that gives one wisdom. So do not shut your mouth or shrink yourself because you believe that that elderly person is wiser than you.
- God is able to restore all that the devil took from you. Job 42:10-17
God is still in the business of restoring our brokenness and redeeming our pain. Don’t let the devil deceive you, you can get back all that you’ve lost and more.
The story of Job reminds us that faith is not proven in comfort alone, but in surrender, endurance, and trust in God’s sovereignty. Through every season, God remains faithful, purposeful, and near. As we walk through life’s uncertainties, may we hold firmly to Him, guard our words, choose a Godly community, and trust that restoration is always possible in His hands. No season is wasted when God is involved.
