One of the beautiful things about gathering week after week is that God continually teaches, corrects, and reminds us of truths we need for every season. Over the past few months, we’ve journeyed through different sermon series, each one revealing a unique aspect of God’s heart and His desire for us to grow in Him.
As we pause and look back, we’re reminded that these weren’t just messages for a moment—they were lessons to carry with us long after the series ended. Here are some of the key takeaways we’ve learned so far this year.
Planted Series (Pastor Shittu Akinade)
In January, we had the Planted series,
It was a great reminder that the foundation on which we let the seed (word of God) fall on will determine the kind of growth that we will experience. Pastor Shittu also talked about the importance of the pruning season. As believers, it is necessary for God to prune us from time to time so we get rid of things that do not serve us or glorify Him.

Love Series (Pastor Mike Ogunfowora and Pastor Clara Onuigbo)
Pastor Mike taught us about communal love. How it reflects God’s nature, produces fruits and strengthens the church.
Pastor Clara took us on Heart of my Heart, which taught us the importance of guarding our hearts and truly surrendering our hearts to God. Our thoughts and intentions flow from our hearts so when it is right, everything else is right.

The New Creation Series (Minister Kingsley Ifoga)
In March, Minister Kingsley took us on a journey of the new creation/
We learnt about the old and new covenants. Jesus came so that through grace and His Spirit, we receive God’s nature and eternal life. We are no longer condemned by the law but are now empowered by His grace.

The Order of Melchizedek Series (Pastor Shittu Akinade and Pastor Dapo Areola)
We were taught that we can be both priests AND kings on earth, Carrying God’s presence in the Spirit and His influence into the world. We do not carry the armor on Sundays and leave it at home on Mondays.

Giants in the Marketplace Series (Pastor Dorothy Tunde Ajala and Pastor Deji Adelagun)
We were given practical insights and valuable lessons that will help us to navigate the recruitment process with confidence.
We also got to learn about what it means to be an ethical giant in the marketplace. To stand with integrity and honesty, without compromising our values just to succeed.

2026 has been such an enriching especially in The Issachar Generation. we leave the church every Sunday feeling very fed in the Spirit. I can’t wait to what else God has in store for TIG in the remaining months of the year.
I pray that we will not only be hearers of the word but also doers in the world in Jesus name.
Thank you so much for reading.
