If you’re like me, then you probably read the story of Jesus’s birth every Christmas and the story of His death and resurrection every Easter.
This year, instead of reading the story like we do every year, we’re going to discover Easter in Scripture.
I will be sharing a few clues that point you to certain passages in the Bible, and you have to pick out one word from each passage, which will form the overall message at the end.
A gentle rule:
No peeking at the end until you’re done.
(This is between you and God… so be honest 🤍)
By the time you’re done,
you won’t just have read about Easter…
You’ll have found it.
🥚 Ready?
With your Bible in hand, let’s begin.
🥚 Clue 1
Find the moment when a father was asked to give up his son.
Instruction:
Pick the word that shows what was being offered.
✍🏽 Write it down somewhere.
🥚 Clue 2
Stay in that story.
Find where Abraham speaks about what God will do.
Instruction:
Pick the word that shows God will make a way.
✍🏽 Don’t lose it.
🥚 Clue 3
Now, find where we are told why Christ suffered.
Instruction:
📖 Look for the prophecy. Pick the word that shows who it was for.
✍🏽 Keep going.
🥚 Clue 4
Stay there.
In that same verse, find what happened to Him.
Instruction:
Pick the word that describes His suffering.
✍🏽 Hold onto it.
🥚 Clue 5
Find the moment everything was completed.
Instruction:
Pick the final word Jesus said.
✍🏽 Almost there.
🥚 Clue 6
Finally, find where the grave could not hold Him.
📖 Go to the empty tomb.
Instruction:
Pick the word that shows what happened next.
✍🏽 This is your last one.
Before you scroll…
Make sure you’ve written down all 6 words.
No skipping
…
Okay.
Let’s check what you found.
The Words
SON
PROVIDE
YOU
WOUNDED
FINISHED
RISEN
The Final Message:
God provided His Son.
He was wounded for you.
It is finished.
He is risen.
Sit with that for a second.
In Genesis, a father was willing to give his son but God provided a substitute.
In Easter, God didn’t hold back. He gave His Son. Fully. Completely.
He was wounded— for you.
He finished the work. Nothing left undone.
And then He rose.
This time, you didn’t just read the Easter story. You found it.
Thank you so much for reading. Kindly comment down below what words you got from your hunt. Did it match the ones above?
