The Bible is a very interesting collection of stories, teachings, poetry, prophecies, letters, and, of course, the Good News. Each book has its purpose and significance in our journey to discovering God.
Based on our circumstances or situations, these books resonate with us differently, so I want to know:
“What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?”
“My all-time favorite book would be Proverbs if I’m not being sentimental about my namesake (Deborah) in the book of Judges.. Lol.
The book of Proverbs is wholesome, filled with instructions that guide and ground a man. Growing up far from home and the confines of my parents, this was the recommended book by them.” – Deborah
If I had to choose one book of the Bible that speaks to me the most, it would be the Gospel of John. There’s something about the way John tells the story of Jesus that feels deeper, more personal, and honestly, more real to me. What stands out most is how John describes Jesus as the Light, saying, “In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” Not just in a symbolic way, but in a way that makes you feel it. Light brings clarity. Light removes confusion. Light gives direction. And that’s exactly how I’ve come to see Jesus through this book.
Life can get overwhelming, and there are moments when things feel uncertain or even dark. But reading John reminds me that there is always light to guide me. It shifts my focus from confusion to clarity, from fear to confidence. I also love how John doesn’t just focus on what Jesus did, but on who He is. It makes the message feel less like history and more like an invitation to actually know Him. The conversations, the miracles, and the way Jesus relates with people, it all feels intentional and deeply meaningful.
For me, the Gospel of John isn’t just another part of scripture. It’s a reminder of how I want to live, walking in light, seeking truth, and staying connected to something greater than myself.
That’s why it will always be my favourite.” – Jeremiah
“My favorite book of the bible is PSALMS
I’m in love with the book of Psalms because it resonates with every mood.
Talks about fear, gratitude, doubt, provision, protection and even hope. e.g., Psalms 23“ – Angel B
“My favourite book of the Bible is Psalms because it contains prayers, praises, and honest expressions of the human heart. I love how it reminds me that I can talk to God about anything—whether I’m happy, worried, or seeking guidance. It strengthens my faith and brings me comfort.
It also expresses human emotions, struggles, joy, fear and also faith. It helps me connect with God in both good and bad times.” – Micah
If I’m to pick my favorite book of the Bible, it would have to be Philippians. How ironic is it that the most joy-filled letter of all the letters Paul wrote is the one where he was in prison? To me, the book serves as a reminder that we can’t find joy in tangible things. Yes, even the gifts we receive from God can’t give us joy. The presence of the Lord is where joy is.
Your turn! What is YOUR favorite book of the Bible and why?
